Saint Charles Borromeo 1538 – 1584, is an Italian saint and was a cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church in Milano. He worked during the period of the Counter-Reformation in Switzerland and was responsible for crimes against the protestants. He promoted significant reforms in the Catholic Church (Council of Trento), including the founding of seminaries for the education of priests.
